365- Week 12

03/18/12
Naked boys!

03/19/12
Nick had to make a tiger habitat for school. I think it turned out really good.

03/20/12
Aubrey likes to feed Nick while he is in the dugout. And "No thank you" is NOT an option!!!

03/21/12
Aubrey and Cooper playing together. I took Alex's mattress off of his bed to make it and they thought it made for a nice couch.

03/22/12
Another beloved book turned into a movie, The Hunger Games. We are all crazy and once again went to the midnight showing. Chris was a little smarter and opted out this time. It was Jenny, Katie, my mom, Bonnie, Juli, Amber (Jordan's), and Ashton. The movie was super good, I loved it! And I didn't even fall asleep!

03/23/12
Cooper and Aubrey were super good while I ran some errands so we spent the rest of the morning at the park.

03/24/12
Saturday morning one of Chloe's good friends, Annie was baptized. Chloe is getting so excited and can't wait for her day!!

365- Week 11

Still playing catch up. I feel like March has flown by!

Yes. There are more pictures of Aubrey. No. It does NOT mean I love her more.
She is just the one who is ALWAYS with me. Plus she is pretty cute!

03/11/12
Chloe with her Leprechaun Trap that Jenny and Grandma helped her with. They sent me this picture when we were in Hawaii.

03/12/12
I let the kids miss school Monday morning so they could go with my mom to pick us up from the airport. We got a grass skirt and little coconuts for Aubrey. But Alex liked them alot!

03/13/12
We came home to five sick kids! All of them had something going on, some worse than others. I took Nick and Aubrey to the doctor this day. They both weren't feeling so good:(

03/14/12
Chloe stayed home this day. I thought she was being a faker, but when I told her she had to have a nap if she was sick she went and crawled in bed and was out within 2 minutes. I guess she really wasn't feeling 100%.

03/15/12
Feeling a little better we rode the bike to the park and had a picnic lunch.

03/16/12
I finally was able to make it to boot camp this day. It was nice to have a workout buddy. And it was nice to see the sun coming up too!

03/17/12
St. Patrick's Day!
We went over to my mom's to see Katie off as she went to the big church formal. She looked beautiful!!

[GREEN]

Our green lasted a little longer this year. The kids had green day on Friday and "Dads and Donuts"too. They were so excited to have Dad take them to school!
Friday afternoon the weather was perfect and the kids just played outside FOREVER!

I was still recovering from having sick kids and trying to catch up on life after being gone so we didn't have anything fun planned for St. Patty's this year.
It was still a good day spent together. Chris went to the temple in the evening with the youth, so the kids and I went to dinner at Chipotle with Jordan, Mavrik, and Makaylin.
Because Chris and Amber weren't there we got a lot of looks from people thinking ALL the kids were mine (CLOSE, but not all!). One lady even came up and was asking me questions!

365- Week 10

03/04/12
Let the vacation begin!
We had a 3 hour lay over in Phoenix, so we found ways to pass the time!

03/05/12
We got absolutely soaked as we were running out of the botanical gardens. And then the sun came out. We stopped a little hut for some smoothies. They were selling the biggest avocados there!

03/06/12
We picked up some chocolate to bring back for everyone and ended up eating a lot of it ourselves!

03/07/12
Waiting to board the boat to go whale watching.

03/08/12
We woke up really early to do some face time with the kids before they had to go to school. It was so nice to see there cute little faces!

03/09/12
The Monday after we left my mom called me and just went on with all the projects that the kids had going on for school (that I did NOT know about). Alex's was to build a robot and he had to do something. My mom and Jenny did awesome!! This is Alex's reading buddy because his mouth is a flash light.

I had to have 2 pictures for this day. Friday night Chris and I were driving back from the beach when Chloe called me really upset. She was totally missing Mom & Dad, when we saw this. We had to stop and take a picture to send to her.
Hawaii had a rainy side and a sunny side to the island. The rainy side is very green and jungle like. The sunny side has lots of black lava rock. Along the the main highway people have written all sorts of stuff with white rocks.

03/10/12
I loved taking pictures of the palm trees with sun behind them!
This day Chris and I were just laying by the water taking pictures to see who get the coolest shot.

Hawaii- Day 8

Our last day.
We slept in as usual.
Packed up and checked out.
Went to breakfast at Bubba Gump's.
Walked down to the pier to wait for our boat.
The whale watching boat that we went on on Wednesday had a guarantee whale sighting or you come again for free. So we decided to try again to see some whales up close before we left (we had already seen them pretty much every time we were at the beach).
And lucky us. The sun came out and we saw lots of whales. I really wanted to see a whale breech like we had seen from about a mile away when we were playing in the water at the White Sands beach, but NO! That is okay we still had fun watching the whales surf in the waves.
And Chris and I entertained ourselves on the way back to the pier. I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long time.
I think the island was sad that we were leaving. The rest of the day was very overcast and it poured. We did a little shopping and actually went to the movies. Our vacation was just the right amount of time. We were able to do everything that we wanted and it was long enough that we were ready to go home and see our babies.

Hawaii- Day 7

We went back to White Sands Beach and spent the morning there. We played in the water for a while and took naps on the beach. It was a total lazy vacation day!
We went back to Rosa's for lunch and spent the afternoon walking the Kailua Kona District. We went to the Farmer's Market and got some souvenirs for the kids. We got Hawaiian shaved ice and walked some more. Then we had ice cream (the Volcano ice cream was yum!) and then we would walk some more.
We stopped to lay down and watch the sunset. It was so nice to be able to be together and not have so many interruptions.
Another fun day. Totally relaxing. Perhaps a little too relaxed!

Hawaii- Day 6

Happy 10th Anniversary!
We always said we were going to go to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary and I am so glad that we were able to do it. And what better way to start the day than doing a session in the temple. The Kona Temple was so beautiful and so small since we are used to the Las Vegas temple.
It was neat too because our session was in Tongan. It was a beautiful morning!
We went out for an anniversary lunch at Macaroni Grill. It was delicious!! And you can tell by my table drawings that we were missing the kids. We went for a walk and got some ice cream.
We finally made it to Mauna Kea Beach. We played in the water for a bit, had a mud fight and then had to leave before we got locked in.
While we were looking for Mauna Kea Beach we found Spencer Beach Park. It was nice so we stayed there to watch the sunset.
We took turns burying each other in the sand and just relaxed.
It has been a great 10 years and I can't wait to see where the next 10 take us.

Hawaii- Day 5

We started day 5 right on the water.
We went and rented some kayaks and drove down to Kealakekua Bay.
Within about 5 minutes of being on the water we were surrounded by dolphins.
There was a lady out of her kayak right next to us who was snorkeling with them and said there was a pod right underneath us. Not really thinking I grabbed my snorkel gear and jumped out.
I was kind of sad that they swam away, but relieved really because I am scared to death of everything in the water!
I got back in and we kayaked over to Captain Cook's monument.
We both got out and did some snorkeling. Anytime that Chris got out of reach I was high tailing it to be right next to him. It was amazing how blue the water was. We had a picnic lunch in our kayak in the middle of the ocean surrounded by dolphins doing tricks for us. It was pretty awesome!
We brought our kayak back and headed to the beach. The weather was pretty overcast and I was cold before we even got in the water, but once we were in it was so fun. The waves were huge and we had fun just riding them in.
The White Sands Beach park. It is also called the "Magic Sands" because the beach can quickly disappear. I think that was my favorite afternoon!
We went back to our hotel to shower and warm up and then we headed to dinner at Rosa's Cantina. It was a yummy Mexican restaurant down the street from our hotel that overlooked the bay. We spent the rest of the night sitting next to the ocean watching the waves come in.
Another fun day on the Big Island!

Hawaii- Day 4

If you are in Hawaii between December and April the number one thing to do is go on a whale watching boat. So we did. Except the only thing we saw was spinner- nose dolphins!
A little disappointing, but still fun!
After our boat docked at the pier we went to Boston Basil's for some yummy pizza and the best pina colada I have ever had.

We strolled back to our hotel looking in the little shops along the way and stopping to check out the palace.
It was neat seeing all these cute lizards everywhere we went. We even saw them in some of the shops.
We went back to our hotel and cleaned up a bit and went to a luau. This is both Chris and my first visit to Hawaii and one the things that I always associate it with is a luau, so I knew we had to go.
I probably shouldn't have watched them pull the pig out of the ground, but other than that it was all really neat to learn a little about the Hawaiian culture.
