Some friends and I decided we should have a little outing every week for something fun to do this summer, so we are going to have "field trip Friday". For our first week we had a tour at Anderson Dairy. They have some talking animals that explain things to the kids, we saw where they actually make the ice cream, we watched a movie on the history of Anderson Dairy with some fun facts and last but not least we got to eat ice cream!! It was fun to get out and see so many of our friends! Nick was at baseball camp, but said he didn't mind missing since he has already been on a school field trip.
Before we moved in.
And now after Chris has put lots and lots of hours into this yard. The grass is still a work in progress, but the kids love having somewhere to run and play.
One of the reasons I love summer so much is for the most part we can do what we want! We can have lazy day and just hang out!
Everywhere we go Nick wants to run there!! "Can you let me out and let me run the rest of the way?" Everyday I hear this! So here are the boys running to Grandma's house to swim.
Last Saturday was the last game of the tournament, it was the Rookie Dodgers vs. the Braves. They also played the night before and won BIG, so I think they were a little worn out, but they put up a good fight and lost by 2 runs to take 2nd place. The boys had a great season, their coaches were awesome, and they made some new friends. It was a nice way to end the season! Yay Dodgers!!
Subway art is really trendy right now, I have been seeing it everywhere. I found a site that you can make it super easy and made the kid's teacher end of the year presents. I made some for Chris for Father's Day and now I am trying to think of more reasons to make some. But I guess naptime is over for today, so time to go swimming!
When we came home Saturday afternoon Mater's dad was in our garage! This is Chris' new love! He plans to totally rebuild this car with the boys.

After Chloe's awards assembly on Monday we came outside to watch Alex for a minute while he was having water day.

After I picked up Alex and Cooper from school on Tuesday we went to the park and had a picnic lunch. They boys played for a bit before we had to go home and let Aubrey have a nap.

I couldn't pick just one picture for this day! I took the kids home from school early after Alex's graduation. They played so well together all afternoon! Mostly Nick & Alex and Chloe & Cooper.

I told the kids to get all their stuff out of the car when we got home from school and without me asking they pulled the vacuum out and went to work. Alex even got the Windex out and cleaned the windows. They are good little workers! Cooper not so much, he was inside coloring!

We enjoyed our first day of summer vacation at the pool with lots of friends (family too, but they are friends!).
Class of 2011. Kindergarten, that is!
Alex with Mrs. Yacubovich

The other day I told Alex that his graduation was just a couple of days away and that meant we were going to go on a date, he and I to get a new outfit for graduation and an ice cream. He just shakes his head and says no. I want to wear jeans and my gray shirt. Okay! This kid knows exactly what he wants! We celebrated today by going to Buffalo Wild Wings. Not his first choice, but this kid loves BBQ chicken! Alex is definitely a special boy and I am glad that he his mine!
Jenny and Katie spent the night after Chloe's party. The next morning we got up and went to IHOP for breakfast and then went to see Kung Fu Panda 2 with the kids.
All ready for church bright and early!
Sucking down some smoothies before school. "Hurry!! We are going to be late for school!" .
I have forgotten alot, but I am pretty sure Aubrey is my first baby to do this. She is a climber! I think I am going to be in trouble!!
Of course Nick loved field day! He loves to be outside and is so athletic! Things were a little chaotic and he wasn't able to participate in a lot of the activities, but I think he still had fun!
And then we have my not-so-athletic child, Chloe. She doesn't like to be sweaty, so I think her favorite part of the day was the water activities and getting snow cones!
Kindergarten had their own field day. Alex loved all of it! He had a permanent smile on his face all morning. One of their activities was to get a bowling pin from laying down to standing up using only their legs. It was pretty difficult for the adults demonstrating and after watching most of the kids not be able to do it, I just figured Alex wouldn't either, but HE DID! He was the first kid to be able to do it and I think only 1 more did it after him. Pretty impressive!
