365- Week 29

One of the things I LOVE about Summer is the late nights!
No school, no homework = NO worries

This week we had probably too many late nights, but we had fun!

Out late riding bikes in the street. Aubrey loved riding circles in the bike trailer.

07/24/12
 Swimming all day!

07/25/12
Right after Nick pulled Alex's tooth out. He was being a spaz!

07/26/12
Four late nights in a row make for some VERY tired children! They woke up and couldn't even stay awake to watch cartoons.

Miss Aubrey loves pizza. She was double fistin' it at the family picnic.
"Do the best you can through these years, but whatever else you do, cherish that role that is so uniquely yours and for which heaven itself sends angels to watch over you and your little ones. Mothers, we acknowledge and esteem your faith in every footstep. Please know that it is worth it then, now, and forever."

Skating fun!

Crystal Palace Skating Center,
the skate of the art!
I haven't been there in at least 15 years, probably longer. But it brought back so many memories.
It looks the exact same as it did 20 years ago, EXACTLY.
And I found out that roller skating kind of is like riding a bike,
it all comes back to you when you get out there.
Anyways...
Last night we went roller skating with some friends.
The kids L.O.V.E.D. it! They all want to have their birthday parties there
and are constantly asking when we can go again.
Cooper was pretty unsure at first, but after a few runs around the rink he was thinking he was a pro
and thought he could do a jump and totally made both of us fall.
That was the first time I went down, the second was when Chloe ate it and pulled me down with her.
Both times I was just laying there laughing!
Alex liked to go around by himself hugging the wall all the way around.
Chloe was okay to let go a little. Nick was pretty good. We skated together when they did "couples".
I am so glad that it is still okay to hold mom's hand in public!
After we had enough skating we went to Sonic for a late night treat.
Definitely a fun night!

[Cubbing Down Under] 2012

Friday and Saturday Nick was at Cub Scout Day Camp.
It was up at Mt. Potosi this year, which gave the boys lots of opportunities to do things they wouldn't normally get to do. Both days they went through rotations with their groups to the different stations.
They got to go swimming, shoot BB guns, do archery, do a rock climbing wall, some wood working, a hike, relay games, some crafts, first aid, and more.
Friday I spent half the day as a station leader teaching the boys about boomerangs. Although the only experience I have had with a boomerang was when I through one at Jeremy's forehead and it didn't come back! It was lots of fun winging it though. I got to have Ben at my station for a bit and it was fun to see some of the other boys and leaders from the stake. After lunch a girl from the other stake took over my station and I got to spend the rest of the afternoon with Nick and our troop.

Scout Camp

Chris left Wednesday morning and got back tonight. I think that was the longest I have ever gone without talking to him. I definitely missed him! So glad he made it home in one piece.

{Quick Trip}

Wednesday morning I dropped Chris off to go to Scout Camp, came home loaded up and drove to the beach for the day. We grew up doing quick trips, so last week my mom suggested one and since Chris was going to be gone I was happy to come along!
It was me, my kids, Juli, her kids, Katie, my mom, and my grandma.

We played on the beach all afternoon. The boys did a little boogie boarding. I was a little nervous having a 5 year old with no fear of the ocean. I am kind of glad that the water was freezing because that meant my skinny, little Cooper wouldn't stay out there too long.
Aubrey didn't like the sand too much at the beginning. She kept saying, "mess-mess!". She was scared of the water at first too, but after a little bit she loved it and didn't want to get out even though she was so cold. She loved jumping in the waves, while I held her of course!
We spent lots of time digging holes, that is my favorite thing to do and burying the kids in the sand.

The next day we went to Downtown Disney before heading home. The kids played a few games and then Grandma let all the kids pick a little something.
We headed out just as it was heating up and getting super busy.
We stopped at Chick Fil-A for lunch. It was yummy and it was nice to let the kids play for a while before we were back in the car AGAIN.
I am usually not a fan of quick trips because I HATE being in the car, but it was nice. Good company and the kids were so good the whole time.
Thanks Mom and Grandma for a nice little trip!

I just want to record the day that I was called to be Primary President.
Today I was sustained and set apart. Let the sleepless nights begin!

07/16/12
Another "CHEESE!" picture! Aubrey and Kaylin ready for bed.
Amber had surgery on both of her feet so Mavrik and Makaylin spent the night to give Amber a little break.

I should have taken a picture when I took 7 kids to get my oil changed and then we walked next door to get lunch while it was being done. The looks we got!!

07/18/12
Road trip! Pit stop in Barstow, CA.

07/19/12

FTF- Secret Garden

 07.11.12
Last week we had "Field Trip Wednesday" instead so that Jenny could go with us to the Secret Garden.
I am not sure what we were thinking going there on the hottest day of the year though. It was 114 degrees outside! We were a sweaty mess before we even bought our tickets to get in!

We still managed to have fun though. We liked it in the underground dolphin observatory because it nice and cold.
It was neat over with the tigers and lions because we got to watch the trainers give them a "snack", it was a blood popsicle, YUM!

After sweating to death we headed to 7-11 for free Slurpee day!

365- Week 27

07/08/12
Jeremy and Juli came over for dinner and these two played so well together.
It was funny, they were just playing in the corner.

07/09/12
I see Juli more often because she is my sister in law, but Amanda I don't get to see too often.
I LOVE that no matter how long it has been we can always just pick back up where we left off.
The three of us have been friends for a long time!

07/10/12
I told these 4 they could play in the sprinklers and they were in heaven. They ran around like CRAZY!!

07/11/12
After sweating our butts of at the Secret Garden all afternoon we swung by to drop Katie off and I let the kids jump in the pool in their clothes to cool off. They thought that was the best!

07/12/12
I went for a walk on the trail behind Chloe's studio while she was at dance. it was sunny when I started and then the clouds quickly started to roll in.

07/13/12
The kids went over to play  at Amber's while I had a meeting.

07/14/12
Aubrey says, "CHEESE!" for all her pictures now and Alex loves to give everyone bunny ears.

Red Rock [Alex & Dad]

Chris had to do a little hike up at Red Rock to help get their boys used to hiking when it is so hot outside for Scout Camp. I was going to baseball and Alex begged and cried to go with Chris. I was really worried that Chris was going to end up carrying him up the mountain. We had just walked to the park (1/2 mile) that day and Alex was crying the whole way. But I guess if he gets to hang with the big boys and he can climb big rocks then he is good to go. Chris said he was their leader, always up in front.
I am glad Alex got to have some special time with his dad!!

{Last}

07.05.12

Towards the end of May I was so looking forward to summer because I was worn out and I needed a break. Now I need a break from summer! We have been super busy!!

Every time we finish something though it seems as if something else begins!

After staying up on the 4th to watch fireworks, the next morning we had to get up early to get to Chloe's last dance competition. It was the KAR finals. They did really well! They got 3rd place for "Hokey Pokey" and 2nd place for "Tisket Tasket" and 1st place for their "Hokey Pokey" costume.

After being at Chloe's competition it was Nick's turn to shine. Thursday ended up being Nick's last All Star game because they lost, but they didn't go down without a fight! Nick mostly played outfield his last couple All Star games, but he had some really good plays and got some really good hits. He had one that Chris and I were certain was going to go over the fence, it didn't, but it was a good hit!!

Now we just have Chloe's dance recital at the end of the month and Nick is going to start a club team at the beginning of August. I guess that means no break for us!!

4th of July 2012

 You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

The 4th of July is still my favorite holiday.
All the red, white, and blue makes me happy!
We swam and barbecued with my family. The weather was messing with us a bit. For a while we were inside playing games. The sun finally decided to come out and the kids swam and we were able to eat outside too.
We sang "Happy Birthday" to America.

And then my little family drove to Boulder City to be with friends to watch the fireworks.
And let me say we were NOT disappointed with our fireworks this year!
As soon as the fireworks were over my kids all asked if we could go back "next July".

Fabulous Fourth spent with family and friends!!!

What happened to June?
I feel like this summer is flying by!

FTF- bowling

Last Friday we went bowling for our "fun Friday" as Nick and Chloe call it now.
We picked up Ben and Hailey and met the Wong's at the Red Rock.
Cooper was an awesome little bowler! He beat everyone the first game.
Aubrey was pretty hard. She was grumpy most of the time. After she realized she did like bowling she had a hard time taking turns. We all had fun and I kind of enjoyed throwing a bowling ball again!

Only 11 kids today!
Aidan, Alex, Kegan, Josie, Taylor, Chloe, Cooper, Nick, Hailey, and Ben (Aubrey was NOT cooperating)

After bowling we went across the street and had lunch at Burger King. It was nice to let the kids run free for a bit and get to chat with Danielle. And what trip to Burger King would be complete without ice cream!!??
