Birthday Girl
I guess it has become tradition on our family to have Eggos for your birthday breakfast with a candle of course! Because that is what Chloe asked for. After we took Nick to school I tried to surprise Chloe by taking her to the Children's Museum, but when we got there we found out that they aren't open on Mondays. What a bummer! She was fine with just going to the park with her friend. We went to McDonald's for lunch and then it was off to school.
I brought cupcakes to her class, Hello Kitty of course and stayed to help for Chloe's special day. She made that request also! After school she got to put on her new tutu that Grandma had got her and then it was off to dance. After dance we met Jeremy, Juli, Ben , Hailey, Will, Lucy, Jordan, Amber, and Mavrik at Red Robin for dinner. They sang to her and she got her free birthday ice cream and then we sang to her and had Bundt cake. I am not sure how, but it seems that Chloe gets quite the birthday treatment every year! I think we may have a real princess on our hands! We came home and she got to open presents from Mom and Dad. She gave up on a friend party to have some stuff that she has been wanting for her baby. A BUSY Weekend!
We (Alex, Cooper, and I) started off Friday at the school running back and forth on the field between Nick and Chloe's classes trying to watch all of their Field Day events! All the classes were split into teams by color, Chloe and Nick ended up both being blue. They both did really well in all of the events and both of their teams got First Place ribbons.
After Field Day we grabbed some lunch and headed to the fire station. Cooper had his first Parent Involvement Activity and he was super excited to go. I have been wanting to take my kids to the fire station for quite some time, so even I was excited for this trip.
The Captain took us on a tour through the station and told us some facts, mostly for the parents and then let the kids climb on the trucks and shoot the fire hose. Cooper was pretty shy while we were there so he didn't shoot it, but he was thrilled to get to "drive" the truck! On Saturday Nick had one of his tournament games. They played the only other team that has been undefeated and beat them! Nick got a couple of good hits and played well.

[Camping]

This last weekend was our stake's annual Father Son Campout. Nick and Alex remember from years back and very much look forward to this. Cooper is just excited to be one of the BIG boys and loves to do anything that Dad does!
So after school Friday they loaded up and headed out. What they did I haven't a clue, but they said they had a good time! I am glad that Chris was able to take off work and spend some quality time with the boys.
As for us girls. I asked Chloe what she wanted to do and she said go to eat and go shopping. That is my kind of girl, 2 of my favorite things to do!! I asked her what she wanted to go shopping for and she said new earrings and clothes for the baby. What a great idea!! I even let her pick what stores. She knows that Carter's and Osh Kosh have matching clothes for both baby and BIG girl , so she walks back and forth in the store looking for outfits that they can have matching. It is pretty cute, so the majority of the time I give in! We had a fun time! I am glad that the boys being gone allowed us to have a Mommy Chloe date!

He's not a baby anymore!
It was very bittersweet taking him last week.
He has been asking to go to school for months now and I kept telling him when he gets a little older. A couple of weeks ago he got accepted to start but assigned to a different school than the one that Nick, Chloe and Alex go to. I was really looking forward to him being in the same class as Alex, making it easier for me to leave him, knowing that his big brother was there to take care of him, his sister in the class next door, and already knowing the preschool teacher at Ries. After a week stressing about it I decided maybe it will be okay for him to be at a different school. Chris' mom works there and she offered to help out since I wouldn't be able to take and pick up at 2 different schools at the same time.On his first day he was super excited. We met his teacher, Ms. Shirley and he was little shy, but Grandma asked him to come play and he was off. I was really surprised that there were no tears, rather happy, but still very surprised. I was a little sad that he let me leave so easily, but it made me leaving him so much easier, knowing he was okay. When we picked him up that afternoon he was so excited to see me, and that just melted my heart. He had a great first day and had fun chasing the pigeons after school with Grandma while waiting for me to pick him up!
Horses

A couple of weeks ago, one of those very windy days that we have been having we went to see the horses. One of the kids' favorite babysitters, Missy has some and invited them to come see them. Every time she would babysit she would tell the kids that they could come see them anytime, so they had been talking about this for months before I finally got this arranged.
They were super excited and when we got there they all became little chickens! This didn't really surprise me. Chloe was the brave one who did everything first. Then I told Nick that if Chloe could do it, he could too. And then after watching the other two, Alex would join in. So they pet the baby horse and got to sit on Missy's favorite. Cooper was still scared so he just watched!
They ran around and after a bit they even got comfortable enough to feed them some hay from their hands.
My allergies were going crazy, so when we finally take Missy up on going for a ride we will have to make sure we pick a nice day!
Funny story!
When I was looking at the pictures to put them on here I was reminded of the laugh that Nick gave Missy and I when they were taking turns petting/taking a picture with the baby horse. The mom horse was in the same stall as the baby and every time you opened the gate just a little the mom would come over. I guess she just likes the attention. But when it was Nick's turn to go in Missy shooed the mom away. He ran in. Barely touched the horse and then posed for his picture (he is well trained!) all the while being very cautious as to where the mom was. As soon as I snapped the picture he stood there statue like. I know you had to be there, but he was waiting for me to open the gate, and as soon as I did he was out of there in a blink of an eye!
