{7 months}

Yesterday was Aubrey's 7 month birthday!

Poor girl has been sick too. Her eyes look so sad.

Not too much has changed.

She did start reaching these last couple of weeks. I love that she holds her hands out for me and that she holds onto me when she doesn't want me to set her down. Daddy like this too!

She is still playing with that tongue like crazy. It is fun to see all the faces she makes.

And we still love her to pieces!!

Another Park Day

The first Sunday this year I had a lesson in Relief Society that really hit home. It was on balancing our lives and living in the moment. Letting go of the things that really don't matter. They told us to ask ourselves, "Will it really matter today, tomorrow, a year from now?" So I am really trying to live in the moment. I want to spend more quality time with my kids. And one of the things they love to do is go for walks, so we did.
I thought we would try a different park this week so we walked to Goett Park. Actually I walked/ran to keep up with them and they rode bikes and scooters. They played for a bit. There were lots of BIG kids there since it was a holiday, so we didn't stay too long. And then Nick asked if we could check out the trail between the houses, so we did. I wasn't sure where it was going to take us but figured we could just turn around and come back if it was too long.

It was a fitness trail so it had stops where you can do jumping jacks and stuff. Chloe and I stopped at each one and did the exercise it said. When we got to the pull up bar the boys thought that was pretty cool. Nick did 2 while the rest of us just hung there without enough upper body strength to pull ourselves up. We got off the trail at another park and headed home. Cooper was dying before we even made it to the first park, so I was pushing the stroller and him on his bike while running to keep up with the other kids. It was a good workout. We stopped by Tropical Smoothie on the way home for a smoothie. It was a good walk!!

365- Week 3

The challenge is simple. Take a picture everyday. But sometimes life is crazy and I don't remember. I did take a picture everyday, but it just happened to be by chance. And then I upload all my pictures for the week and think, "dang", that is my only choice for a certain day. So here it goes!
01/15/11Cute girl!!
01/16/11Playing Battleship with Nick. I beat him this time, only my 2nd time, he usually wins.

01/17/11Alex climbing some rocks when we went on our walk. We were on our way home when Nick stopped and asked if they could climb the mountain. Nick and Alex were able to do it all by thereselves. It was really steep and really rocky.

01/18/11
After dance Jenny came over for dinner. While we were waiting for dinner to cook, Jenny helped Chloe make her "LOVE bird". Chloe got a Valentine craft book from the library last week and really wanted to make something from it.

01/19/11
I didn't even tell him to. After he was done showering he just started squeegeeing the glass.
01/20/11
This is really one of those days that this is all I have to choose from. Note to self: work on self portraits!

01/21/11
Just waiting at the hospital! Chris' grandpa gave us a big scare and we raced up to St. George to be with him and Granny.

Park Day

I love that we have so many parks in walking distance. So last Saturday the kids hopped on their scooters and bikes and we walked to Rose Park. We brought lunch and the kids just played.

365- Week 2

01/08/11 Park day. I just love taking her picture!
01/09/11I love all the faces she makes!

01/10/11 She is always sticking her tongue out!

01/11/11
Tubby time!

01/12/11
Alex and Aubrey both woke up fevers. It wasn't such a good day for them, but I love a picture of a sleeping baby (even if he is my 5 year old baby)!

01/13/11
My mom took us to see Disney on Ice. Of course, my battery died right after I took this, so this is all I got of the whole night.

01/14/11
Chloe and Cooper sleeping on the side of my bed. They had no idea how they got there when they woke up!

[my birthday]

I think this is the first year that I kind of forgot about my birthday and also the first time that I really didn't want to have a birthday. I always thought people were silly not wanting to get older and admit their age, but I think I am starting to understand! I have too many good friends and lots of great family that wouldn't let me forget though and for them I am thankful! On Friday some friends took me to lunch at Cafe Rio and then to Golden Spoon for a treat. It was so nice to just be able to hang out. On Friday we got a babysitter and Chris took me and Aubee to dinner at Cheesecake Factory and then to see Little Fockers. It has been a while since we had a date night, so that was awesome and Aubrey was so good! Saturday night we went to Chipotle with some family and friends and then came back to our house for lots of yummy bundt cake (we had white chocolate raspberry, Chocolate-chocolate chip and Cinnamon swirl) and ice cream.
I am going to try really hard to deal with the fact that I am getting wrinkles and that in deed I am getting older. I have 5 kids, wrinkles are inevitable!!
Thanks everyone, I had a great weekend!!

Just for fun!

Operation 365- Week 1

A friend of mine told me about Operation365 (I think that is what it is called). You are supposed to take a picture everyday of the year and by the end of the year your picture taking skills should have improved. I take a lot pictures, but I don't know if my skills have gotten any better over the years. But I thought it was a worth a try. I also thought it would be a good way to document some of the day to day stuff. I am going to try and post my pictures weekly, so here is my first week:
01/01/11
Our snow day.
01/02/11
Aubrey is learining how to take her binky out and put it back in her mouth. The kids think this is pretty funny.

01/03/11

Just washing dinner off in the bath.

01/04/10 Just playing with Mom while all the kids were at school.

01/05/11

I find my kids just randomly sitting on the kitchen counter doing stuff all the time.

01/06/11

Alex and Cooper playing Transformers under the dining room table. I love how well these two play together in the afternoons while Nick and Chloe are at school.

01/07/10

Alex tells the girls to stand next to him and then puts his hands up and oh-so-smoothly around the girls. I think I am going to be in trouble when he gets older!!

New Years Baby

Chris' little brother, Tristen and his wife Tahtiana had their baby New Years day.
Landon Devon Lichty
7 lbs. 4 oz.
18 inches long

Poor little guy is still in the NICU. We can't wait for him to get better so that he can come home.

Snow Day

New Years Day tradition for our family has turned into going to the snow. I love that we have these traditions for the kids. Jenny, Katie, and Ashton joined us up at Lee Canyon for some snow fun. We made snow angels, attempted a snow man, sledded down the hill, had a snowball fight, and enjoyed some hot cocoa.
Chris says that if we want to keep this tradition we are going to have to go way earlier so it isn't so crazy busy. We still managed to have some good family fun though.

NYE 2011

We spent New Year's Eve partying at my mom's. We had some friends over anad played some games and had lots of yummy food. Nick and Alex were troopers and made it to 12:00 so they could do some poppers and shoot confetti all over Grandma's house.

December Randomness

Just love this girl and I love to take her picture!!
Our playhouse (A.K.A. the barn) made it over to our new house. Nick was on a date with Grandma Karen, but Chloe, Alex, and Cooper got a kick out of watching it "fly" into the backyard.
Aubrey doesn't sleep that well when we are out, she prefers to be in her bed, but if she has a magical Santa hat on then she sleeps "like a baby"! Alex had a holiday performance. They sang the Chipmunk song and a couple of others. He is not a fan of singing so we pretty much just watched him trade spots with the other kids as he moved along the back.
The kids got to go see their new cousin Taylor. Aubrey looks like a monster compared to that tiny baby! I just want her to be tiny again!!
Of course Chloe was in heaven!
I went and helped Alex's class decorate gingerbread houses.
The first graders also had a holiday performance. Chloe's class did Jingle Bell Rock.
I came earlier that morning and helped a couple of the other moms paint their faces so they could be little rock stars!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning the kids were good to Chris and I, they didn't wake up too early. At least not that I know of. I do know that Chloe already knew stocking gifts, so she must have been sneakin' earlier. We came downstairs and the kids saw what Santa put in their stockings and then we headed outside to see what else Santa left for the kids.
They were super excited when they looked out the window and saw a trampoline! I guess it is kind of a good thing that it was freezing outside or they might have stayed out there all morning.

We came back in and opened up all the presents. Chloe loved her baby and baby clothes. Alex and Cooper loved their Transformers. Nick was excited for his Deal or No Deal DS game. And little Aubee loved the dollar that came in her purse from Santa.

Chris made us yummy breakfast while the kids played with all their new stuff and we got ready for the day. We then went to see Tristen, Tahtiana, Melissa, Robert, Grandpa Victor, Hayden, Taylor, Grandma Karen, Granny and Grandpa to visit and hand out presents. After those stops we headed over to my mom's to open gifts there. She holds all our gifts hostage so we have to some see her on Christmas! The kids played with their new stuff there with their cousins.
They don't even really need Santa, they have Grandma!!
We hung out for a while and then went to dinner at Gardunos with Mom, Dad, Jenny, Katie, Jeremy, Juli, Ben, Hailey, Will, and Lucy and we even ran into Grandpa Mike and Grandma Kaye while we were there.
Christmas came way too fast for me this year, so I am glad to say it is over! I am thankful that we did have such a nice Christmas with our family and I am especially thankful for the birth of our Savior!
