FTF: YMCA

My kids have been talking about "Field Trip Friday" for months now.
Making lists of where they want to go and who they can invite, so I was kind of sad when I had to have some tests on the first Friday of summer.
Luckily Chris had the day off and we still managed to have our FTF, family style.
We went to have dinner at Five Guys and then headed way across town to the YMCA.
They are very serious there, so anybody who wanted to go on the slides had to take a "swim test" and swim the length of an Olympic sized pool.
Chris, Nick, and Chloe, and Alex got their wristbands to ride. Alex barely made it because he was swimming with his eyes closed and wasted a lot of energy swimming the wrong way.
I hung out in the little pool with Cooper and Aubrey.
Jeremy and his family were there too, so that was an added bonus for the kids.
A fun family night!

{A SUMMER Celebration}

To celebrate the last day of school we headed to the M for the afternoon with some friends.
Since it was a Thursday it wasn't too busy which was nice because our kids ran around there like they owned the place. Taking showers, I think was the high light for the kids!
We ordered some lunch and hung out all afternoon.
It was such a nice way to end a great school year and to celebrate the beginning of our summer vacation!

School is out for the Summer!!

The first 2 pictures were taken the first week of school and the second 2 were taken the last week.

Last Thursday (6/7/12) was the kids last day of school.
The kids were super excited for their parties and to be out of school for the summer,
BUT I was having some anxiety and was really emotional all morning.
I HATE change! I hate that my kids have already been bumped around to so many schools.
Knowing that we weren't going to be there next year it was hard for me to say good bye to their teachers.
They have all been awesome this year.
I am so thankful for each of them, for doing so much for my kids, things I couldn't do for them.
I am especially thankful for Alex's teacher. She really worked with him when he was struggling
 and cared so much.
Stuckey was good to us for the most part.
I LOVED their teachers!
I LOVE the principal and so do all the kids!
I loved that it was so new and everything was nice and clean.
I did like that Grandma was there if the kids needed something.
The office staff was always so good to me.
But I certainly will NOT miss uniforms.
I didn't really mind them, but it will be nice not to have to fight my kids every morning!
It will also be nice not to have so much ironing!

With all that being said, let summer begin!!

Lucky for Terry and I because we got to tag along to the Alaskan Gold dinner at Texas de Brazil.

06/16/12
 Aubrey and Jenny playing together.

06/07/12
After a long/emotional day Chris took me out to dinner at BJ's.

06/08/12
As I was looking through the mounds of papers that the kids have brought home from school I saw these. The first one is from the first week of school and the second is from the last week. Alex is my little artist. He got invited to be in the Art Club at school at the beginning of the year. Kind of fun to see them improve!

06/09/12
Lucky us! Chris had Saturday off so we went and saw Madagascar 3.

Chloe's Baptism
Chloe has been counting down to this day for months.
She was so excited!
After she got her jumpsuit on she was literally jumping up and down with excitement.
 Chloe girl and Dad
 The Family

Chloe's baptism was perfect!
Only two kids were baptized which made things nice.
And it was a boy (Benjamin Long) that was in her preschool class for a little while.

Chris baptized and confirmed her.
Grandpa Steve gave the opening prayer.
Grandma Debbie gave a wonderful talk on the Holy Ghost.
She gave Chloe and Benjamin a "comforter" to help remind them to CTR and keep the Holy Ghost near.
And Benjamin's brother and sister did a really neat musical number.

"How Can I Be?"
How can I be like my brother Nephi
like my father Lehi of old
how can i be
like Captain Moroni in the wars that are told
how can I see forever like the promise to the 3 Nephites

CHORUS
I wanna be Samuel the Lamanite
I wanna be Benjamin the wise
I wanna be like Abinadi
Oh tell me how, can I be like them

How can I be
like Alma the Younger, a strong servant of the Lord
how can I be
like mighty Ammon, whose heart was the sword
how can I
be a strippling warrior and learn to fight by faith

How can I be, how can I  be
like my brother Joseph, when he prayed in the grove
how can I have, how can I have
the strength that he had, and the love he had for God
how can I be corageous, and strive to choose the right

I wanna be like Jesus Christ
Oh tell me how can I be like him
oh tell me how can I be like him

Chloe is so lucky, she had so many friends and family there to support her.

After the baptism we came back to our house for a luncheon for Chloe.
Thank you to everyone who came and made Chloe's day so special!!

Sam was Chloe's primary teacher a couple years back and ever since then Chloe has LOVED her.
Chloe was super excited when Sam offered to take Chloe's pictures for her baptism announcements.
They spent a morning in the park taking these.
Chloe was in heaven.
Thank you Sam for capturing my girl at the special time.

Bowling {Date Night}

 06.01.12

Nick and Chelsea came into town for Chloe's baptism.
So Friday night we got a babysitter and had ourselves a little date night.
We went to dinner at Lucille's first.
Staci and Dave came to dinner, but I was busy talking and didn't get a picture there:(

Afterwards we headed over to the South Point for a couple games of bowling.
We were tired, some more than others which made things even more fun!
It was a fun night!!

365- Week 21

05/27/12

Not sure why Chloe and Hailey are plugging their noses. Maybe someone stinks??!!

05/28/12
Memorial Day
We had a big BBQ and swimming over at my mom's house with lots of friends and family.

05/29/12
These two are little buddies. Just watching a little Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the morning.

05/30/12
As part of Nevada Reading week Wednesday was dress as your favorite story book character.
So we have Fancy Nancy, Curious George, Cat in the Hat, and Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
I had Nick's hair parted on the side like Greg, but I kind of laughed after I did it because he looked cute like a little dork and Nick started to cry and asked, "do I look like a nerd?". That was the point, but he was not having it, especially since he has a girly he is trying to impress.

05/31/12
Aubrey likes to hide in the pantry. Sometimes I don't even know she is in there and I will open the door to find a cute monster.

06/01/12
Bowling at the South Point with the Holt's.

06/02/12
Just wrestling with Dad while we got things ready for the baptism.
