Pajama Day

06.01.12
As part of Nevada Reading Week the kid's school had spirit week and Friday was Pajama Day!
Nick asked me on Friday morning if I would go read to his class.
And after I agreed Alex and Chloe wanted me to come too!
So Cooper, Aubrey and I got or pajamas on too and headed to school with the kids.
We went to Chloe's class first and I read Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: Chew and Swallow.
Next we went to Nick's class. He picked a short book, What Mom's Can't Do, so we read Cat in the Hat also. Aubrey was really crazy in there and the kids kept laughing at her which only made her act worst!
Side note: Nick has a MAJOR crush on the little girl on the right with the light pink pajama bottoms. Her name is Chloe and she is his girlfriend. She just doesn't know it yet! He is sad that they are both going to different schools next year. It has been fun the last month or so to hear something about Chloe everyday when I pick the kids up from school:)
Last but not least we read to Alex's class. We read Cat in the Hat again. His class was the most well behaved of them all. What good little first graders!

Piano Recital/Family Party

 05.25.12
Nick and Chloe finished up their first year of piano and performed in their first piano recital.
They are Granny's only students that have been going for the full year, so we had a very informal piano recital at our house. Luckily I decided to have the piano tuned last minute because it was really bad.
They both did excellent! Chloe even sang one of her songs for everyone after she played it.
I am excited to see how much the progress next year.
Afterwards was a little family party for Chloe. And my dad too, so I figured we should sing to both Grandpa's since they all share May birthdays.

Shark Reef {Yet Again!}

 05.25.12
Cooper's preschool class had a parent involvement activity at the Shark Reef, so we went AGAIN!
Aubrey is NOT a fan at all!
Scary is her new word.
The only time she didn't have her face buried in my shoulder is when we were in the touch tank area.
And that was only because they had an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser that was low enough for her.
She probably sanitized herself about 100 times while we were waiting for Cooper's class.
 Cooper liked it though.
But because we were there not too long ago I think he was a little bored with some areas.
It was lunch time for the big sharks while we were there so we had fun watching them and looking for the sea turtles.

Happy 8th Birthday Chloe!

May 24th Chloe celebrated a special birthday as she turned 8.
She has been counting down for months now!

She started her birthday pretty grumpy and I had to remind myself not to beat the birthday girl!
She was quite upset, like most mornings that she had to wear her uniform.
Luckily we moved on quickly and had pink and blue cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
Cooper and I did a little birthday shopping, grabbed some cupcakes and Tropical Smoothie and then headed back to the school to have lunch with the birthday girl.
After lunch we went outside to have cupcakes with her class. And then we went around the school to hand out the rest of them. That girl is definitely a giver!

After school was dance. She brought more cupcakes to share with her dance friends. She didn't even have one because she gave them all away!

We had dinner at Metro Pizza and then went over to King Putt for some laser tag. The computers were having troubles so we got to have a couple of extra games for free. We ended our night at home with chocolate cherry fudge cake and ice cream and opening presents. Chloe was SUPER excited about her scriptures, she even got up and gave me a hug!
Hope you had a good Chloe, we LOVE you!!

[Braves t-ball]

05.19.12

The t-ball season is officially over. The boys had their last game May 19th.
Both boys have progressed so much this season. Alex got to be the last one to bat for the last half of the season because most of the time he hit the ball hard enough out in the grass that all the kids on base could get home without getting tagged out (not that it matters since they don't keep score).

I can't really say that I am sad that our t-ball years are over. Next year we will move both boys up to coach pitch. Hopefully we will be able to stay with Coach Lance. I have really learned the difference that a good coach makes. After Fall Ball last year Alex could have cared less about baseball. After this season he loves the game again and is doing so well.
Cooper has done really well too. It is crazy what a difference a year makes. Most of the time when he throws the ball he lifts his leg like a little pitcher. Pretty cute!!

365- Week 20

CHEESE!!
This girl LOVES to play with my shoes!

05/21/12
The BRAVES had their team party on Monday night. They played a little boys against the parents game and had a potluck dinner. We were lucky to have Lance as a coach again!

05/22/12
Grandpa having a turn watching these two little monsters.

05/23/12
 Happy Birthday Daddy-O!
The adults all went to Katie's Senior Awards Ceremony and then out to eat at Sammy's for a double celebration.

05/24/12
 Happy Birthday Miss Chloe!
Here she is showing off her new ballet skirt.

05/25/12
Chloe got a new swimsuit for her birthday and on a dare Alex put it on. Pretty weird!!

05/26/12
Sad that I didn't actually take any pictures on this day. We went and saw The Avengers with Jeremy, Juli, their kids, and the Dymon's. Afterwards Chris grilled up some yummy carne asada and the Dymon's came to dinner.

Field Day [Nick]

 05.18.12

Friday was Nick's field day.
So Cooper, Aubrey, and I followed Nick's class around all morning to the different stations. Cooper was in complete heaven when Nick's teacher told him that he could be on Nick's team. And it is a good thing he wore an orange shirt too! The rest of the afternoon Cooper kept saying how awesome Nick's teacher is!
Nick LOVED all of it and we wouldn't expect anything else from him!
He was highly disappointed that the orange team only placed third though (they put all the orange classes on one team, so all the 3rd, 4th, and 5th orange team together).

Another fun morning! Not nearly as hot and way nice to not have to divide my time. I love watching my kids do well at something and have a good time!
