Twins

When you look at your ultra sound pictures and say that your baby looks like so and so, you usually aren't right. I mean who can look at a black and white, blurry profile pic and know who your kids looks like.
I can!!
But I didn't know how right I really was!
Everytime I see an old family friend or family that we haven't seen for a while they always say Cooper looks just like your younger brother when he was little.
It is true! Cooper looks just like Josh, freckles and all!

Grandpa Mike

My grandpa passed away a couple of weeks ago.
He was a good man and he lived a good life.
My grandpa was a Marine.

I am thankful that my grandma is such an awesome lady. Even though it was so hard for her she was always worrying about others and how it was hard on them. She made sure that we all had an opportunity to say good bye to grandpa and allowed us to be with him while he passed away.
This last week was the funeral. There was a viewing and vigil on Thursday night and then we attended Mass and a Veterans Memorial burial on Friday.

It was not a fun event but it was neat one. I loved seeing my grandma's love shown for Grandpa. I thought that the Marines did a great job at the burial.
It was neat to see them carry the casket in.

They also did a 21 gun salute. They each fired 3 times and each shot represented 7.
The shells from the shots were picked up and given to my grandma inside of the folded flag.

Jeremy, Josh and Jordan were able to be pallbearers.

They gave out little American flags to wave by the graveside.
Grandpa was the proudest Marine there ever was!
Side note: At the vigil Gary, my grandpa's son was talking about him giving his eulogy, he said that he was known as "Captain Safety". We grandkids always called him that when we were little, but didn't know his son did too. That was pretty funny in and of itself. Then he said that there must have been some pretty serious safety concerns in heaven and that it is why he was taken from this earth.

365- Week 4

I know that the majority of all the pictures I take are of Aubrey! She is just so cute all the time and she doesn't talk back and she still lets me take her picture. So, she is nice!! Anyways, I am going to try and do equal time on my weekly posts from now on=) Starting next week...

01/22/11
Little Cousins! Chris' family came over for a bbq and since Landon is out of the hospital now we thought we would get all the cousins on the couch for a group shot.

01/23/11
Yes, Aubrey sleeps in my closet. She does have a real bed in her room, but it is just so far away from me. She was sick all weekend. She looked so sad.

01/24/11

This is how Alex and Cooper spend most of their afternoons. Relaxing and watching a movie. They watch Transformers most days, they are kind of obsessed with it right now and have been since about October or November. Alex usually leaves his clothes on, on the other hand Cooper usually takes his off the second we walk in the door from school.

01/25/11
Aubrey and Makaylin hanging out at Grandma's house. It was quite a chore to get these two to just look at the camera at the same time, let alone smile!

01/26/11

You might think that this is the only picture I had to choose from for this day. That may be true, but I did want to remember this time. Aubrey is nowhere close to crawling, but we are heading that way. When I stuck her in her bath tub that morning she was trying to climb out. It was pretty funny and sad at the same time because I so don't want her to get big.

01/27/11

I didn't actually take any pictures myself on this day, so this one that Chris will have to work. This is at my Grandpa's funeral. I was just telling Jeremy that we need to take more pictures together, so this was actually his idea. I have such awesome brothers and sisters!!

01/28/11

Chloe was so excited when I stuck Aubrey in the bath with her. Now every time I have gone to give Aubrey a bath Chloe wants to join her. Sweet sisters!!

{7 months}

Yesterday was Aubrey's 7 month birthday!

Poor girl has been sick too. Her eyes look so sad.

Not too much has changed.

She did start reaching these last couple of weeks. I love that she holds her hands out for me and that she holds onto me when she doesn't want me to set her down. Daddy like this too!

She is still playing with that tongue like crazy. It is fun to see all the faces she makes.

And we still love her to pieces!!

Another Park Day

The first Sunday this year I had a lesson in Relief Society that really hit home. It was on balancing our lives and living in the moment. Letting go of the things that really don't matter. They told us to ask ourselves, "Will it really matter today, tomorrow, a year from now?" So I am really trying to live in the moment. I want to spend more quality time with my kids. And one of the things they love to do is go for walks, so we did.
I thought we would try a different park this week so we walked to Goett Park. Actually I walked/ran to keep up with them and they rode bikes and scooters. They played for a bit. There were lots of BIG kids there since it was a holiday, so we didn't stay too long. And then Nick asked if we could check out the trail between the houses, so we did. I wasn't sure where it was going to take us but figured we could just turn around and come back if it was too long.

It was a fitness trail so it had stops where you can do jumping jacks and stuff. Chloe and I stopped at each one and did the exercise it said. When we got to the pull up bar the boys thought that was pretty cool. Nick did 2 while the rest of us just hung there without enough upper body strength to pull ourselves up. We got off the trail at another park and headed home. Cooper was dying before we even made it to the first park, so I was pushing the stroller and him on his bike while running to keep up with the other kids. It was a good workout. We stopped by Tropical Smoothie on the way home for a smoothie. It was a good walk!!

365- Week 3

The challenge is simple. Take a picture everyday. But sometimes life is crazy and I don't remember. I did take a picture everyday, but it just happened to be by chance. And then I upload all my pictures for the week and think, "dang", that is my only choice for a certain day. So here it goes!
01/15/11Cute girl!!
01/16/11Playing Battleship with Nick. I beat him this time, only my 2nd time, he usually wins.

01/17/11Alex climbing some rocks when we went on our walk. We were on our way home when Nick stopped and asked if they could climb the mountain. Nick and Alex were able to do it all by thereselves. It was really steep and really rocky.

01/18/11
After dance Jenny came over for dinner. While we were waiting for dinner to cook, Jenny helped Chloe make her "LOVE bird". Chloe got a Valentine craft book from the library last week and really wanted to make something from it.

01/19/11
I didn't even tell him to. After he was done showering he just started squeegeeing the glass.
01/20/11
This is really one of those days that this is all I have to choose from. Note to self: work on self portraits!

01/21/11
Just waiting at the hospital! Chris' grandpa gave us a big scare and we raced up to St. George to be with him and Granny.

Park Day

I love that we have so many parks in walking distance. So last Saturday the kids hopped on their scooters and bikes and we walked to Rose Park. We brought lunch and the kids just played.
