Nice Weather= Park Day

Lately we have been having some beautiful weather. It was so nice yesterday that the kids actually wore shorts to school. And when the weather is absolutely perfect you should go to the park! Nick and Chloe were at piano, but Cooper and Alex had a blast playing with 'the girls'. Nice way to spend the afternoon.

100th Day

Yesterday the kids celebrated their 100th day of school. Kindergarten and First Grade really went all out for their celebrations! All the first graders dressed up like they were 100 years old. They counted 100 things and made poster of 100 things. They decorated their 100 crowns and ate 100 snacks. Yay to 100 days of first grade, only 80 more to go!

Date Night- Alex & Mom

One of my New Year's resolutions was to have more one on one time with my kids. I also really wanted Alex to learn all of his sight words. We have been working on them for a while, so I told him that as soon as he knew all of them then we could go on a date. I should have told him that a long time ago because after I told him that he got all of them right in less than a week!

I let him pick where he wanted to go and he picked to go eat at Chili's. That boy must be growing, he ordered ribs off the adult menu and scarfed them down in like 2 minutes! It was nice to talk with him without any interruptions. After dinner we stopped at Baskin Robbins (Alex's favorite) for a treat.

I loved spending some quality time with my boy and I know he loved it just as much!

365- Week 5

She may look cute, but looks can be very deceiving! 1 o'clock church is hard with a little friend who is ready for a nap right when church starts. This was taken right after a melt down, a little snack can make things better(sometimes!).

NEVER EVER getting a dog might have been taken out of Chris' vocabulary.

The neighbor was dog sitting and he got out. Chris decided to take care of him until our neighbor could come get him. It was cute- they were playing baseball together!!

This is the year that Chloe gets baptized. This last Saturday we went to the baptism of one of the little girls, Isabelle, in Chloe's class.

{Field Trips}

Field trips are fun.

I am glad that my kids get to go to new places and learn new things outside of the classroom.

But... they are becoming a touchy issue around here!

They get sad when they don't get to go or if I get to chaperon on one of theirs and not the other.

My kids want me to go on their field trips with them (which makes me happy), but because there are so many parent volunteers they draw names out of a hat to pick which parents get to go. Last year Chloe went to see the dolphins at the Mirage and I didn't get chosen. Then this year she is going to the Springs Preserve and again, I don't get chosen. Chloe was heart broken. She was in tears when she came out of school and said, "My teacher didn't pick YOU".

Side note: I was chosen to go on Alex's field trip to the shark reef last month and he is going to see a play next month and was chosen again. Lucky me!

So the day came and Chloe begged me to just show up at the Springs Preserve.

So Cooper, Aubrey and I did just that.

It was our first time there.

Man, it is huge!

We only had a couple hours before we had to leave, so we will definitely have to go back when all my kids are out of school.

Chloe loved having Cooper come with her group.

Cooper said, "this is a fun day, Mom!"

We will have to plan for a whole day to see everything!

365- Week 4

Another Monday with no school because of teacher in service. Alex had a friend over to play and Nick had Ben spend the night, so with 5 boys there was a gun battle going on. Nick and Cooper posed for a picture while they were hiding.

Jordan and Amber were in town for a couple of days. We went to Outback for lunch with Mom and Katie and the Mavrik came over to play with Cooper.

Aubrey used to eat really well. Then slowly she got picky-er and picky-er! I had to take a picture during lunch because it is a small miracle that Aubrey ate a PBJ sandwich. Now we are up to cereal and PBJ. This is huge!!

I got Alex this vest for school on clearance a while ago but haven't had him wear it because I didn't to fight him (they all hate uniforms). I pulled it out one day and he was really excited to wear it. He said all the kids said he looked so handsome! So he wanted to wear it the next day, but also wear a tie too. I thought he looked so handsome! Already looking good for the ladies!

I was messing with Aubrey's hair after I put it in pigtails and the kids thought it was hilarious. Aubrey liked it too. She kept looking in the mirror shaking her head trying to move them, but they didn't move.

365- Week 3

Josh and Amber ran to the store and we volunteered to watch the kids=) Chloe was a complete baby hog! She was so good with Lucas though, such a good little mama (her teacher just told me that is what she calls her at school because Chloe is always taking care of the other kids).

Thanks to Martin Luther King we had the day off from school. We went to lunch with Jenny and Katie at CPK, to the park to play and then to see Beauty and The Beast in 3D.

Aubrey loves her kitty jammas and LOVES to wear every ones shoes around the house.

It was a good night. Dinner and homework/reading were all done by 6:30. MIRACLE!!

All the kids were laying down on the floor in the family room, I got my camera out to take a picture and Aubrey just scooted he little self right in with them.

Jenny and I had a day at the spa. Massage, facial, and mani/pedi. It was so nice!!

Chloe was sad that she didn't have her nails painted so I painted hers and then Aubrey wanted hers done too.

Since the kids all got new bikes for Christmas we have been riding them to school on Mondays and Fridays, the days we don't have any after school activities.

One of my good friends from high school was sealed to her husband and little boy. I was so glad I was able to make it the sealing. It brought back so many sweet memories of our special day.
