Today I decided I would ride my bike to take Aubrey to swim lessons.
It isn't too far and I need to get in some exercise for the day.
I left a little later than I had originally planned.
It will be okay. I will just have to go fast.
I start riding. It is up hill. It is windy. It is hard.
I don't get too far before I start to wonder if I should turn back for the car.
And I talk my self into keep going.
When all the kids would ride their bikes to school at Stuckey I used to tell Chloe,
"You can do hard things!" as we rode up the hill to the school.
It was was hard and she would always want to quit, but she always did it!
I told myself I can do hard things.
The wind was blowing so hard against me that it was easier if I pushed the bike during those times.
I still contemplated whether I should turn around.
I didn't want Aubrey to be late for her first swim lesson.
But I kept going.
We made it.
I thought I was going to die.
I need to be physically fit.
On the way home it was easy.
Too easy.
We were going downhill.
The wind was going with us.
As I was coasting I wanted it to be hard.
I wanted to work.
I wanted to grow stronger.
And that is exactly what I needed today.
Sometimes things are hard.
So hard I want to give up.
But I can do hard things.
Hard things make me stronger.
I need to be spiritually fit.
