{Living in the moment}

I don't remember who I was talking to recently, but I was reminded of the goal I had set for myself to live in the moment more, especially when it comes to doing things with my kids and my family. With another loss in the family I am reminded that life is precious and we never know how much time we have. I can't believe how old my kids are getting , it makes me sad. I want them to stay little forever...but anyways... I was driving home from taking Nick to scouts and saw that the water was on at the park, so I came home and told the kids to get swimsuits on. We rode scooters to the park and played for a bit. It was a fun afternoon and totally beat doing homework (we did get it done though)!!

365- Week 19

05/07/11 Alex got the game ball on Saturday. He hit the ball really hard a few times and got a couple of outs. He did awesome!!

05/08/11 Mother's Day with my babies!

05/09/11
Who doesn't love a baby in a basket?!

05/10/11

I have a very random husband! He came home from work and built me a book shelf for the office. His cousin Chris came over to pick him up to go golfing so he helped him finish up the trim.

05/11/11

All 4 of the big kids were playing on the trampoline so nice. I love it when they don't fight!!

05/12/11

The kids new favorite thing to do: ride the electric scooter. They are constantly fighting over this. Even Cooper rides it now too. He is pretty good, but it still scares me because it goes dang fast!!

05/13/11

Again, random Chris. I was standing at the sink doing dishes today when Chris came through the door with everything to make this. And it was so yummy too! Chris is kind of like a closet chef, and I love it when he cooks for me!

Grandpa Lichty

Chris' other grandpa passed away last week of heart failure. He suffered a major stroke almost 9 years ago leaving him almost completely paralyzed. Although we will all miss him we know that he is in a better place now where is no longer suffering.

The funeral was Wednesday and Chris and I attended with Aubrey. It was pretty neat to learn a little more about Grandpa Lichty's life. He was a good man and we will miss him!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was awesome this year. I don't think I have ever had a bad one though, Chris always spoils me! This year he made french toast, eggs , and bacon for breakfast and I woke up to beautiful roses and cards.

I loved the gifts my kids made me at school this year. Cooper painted a little pot and planted some seeds. Alex gave Chris a little cup with flowers in it. Yes, Chris. After I picked Alex up from school on Friday we met Chris for lunch. Alex was super excited and told Chris the flowers were for him.

Me: Alex, What are the flowers for?

Alex: For Mother's Day!!

Me: Is he your mother??

Alex: No, but I want them to be for him!

It was pretty funny! Glad he loves his daddy!

Nick made me some tissue paper flowers. And Chloe made a pet rock lady bug, wrote some papers about me, and drew a picture of me. It was all pretty cute! And also, every week Chloe's class memorizes a poem and this week it was a Mother's Day poem and my little singer Chloe turned it into a song for me.

Mother's Day

I see flowers blooming bright in the sun.

How will I choose just the right one?

Mother's Day is coming, and it must be right

To say "I love you" with flowers so bright!

I am very thankful to be a mother. Often this blessing is taken for granted, but I truly am thankful that I have been given 5 beautiful and healthy children. My favorite part of my day was probably the 20 minutes I had to snuggle with my baby in bed before I went down to eat breakfast. Aubrey is a sleeper, so I had to wake her up to have my snuggles, but it was so worth it. Next year she will be almost 2 on Mother' Day and I will never have another baby of my very own to love on. Very bittersweet!
I am also very thankful to have been given the best mom ever. She is the most caring and giving person I know, there isn't anything that my mom wouldn't give or do for her kids or grand kids.

I have a pretty great mother-in-law too and I am surrounded by great examples of mothers all around me.
And a fun little side note: Aubrey crawled up the stairs for the first time. She has never even gone by them, but she just went right up to them and climbed right up like a pro. Yay Aubee!! Now we have to teach her to go down!

No Picture

5/01/11

This picture reminds me of when I was little and I used to use Jenny and Katie as my babies for playing house. Sisters are the best, and I am glad they have each other!

Again, Aubrey and her tongue.

5/03/11

I am very happy that I am married to the "YES Man"! There are very few things that this man can't do, and if he doesn't know how, he knows someone who can! He is the hardest worker ever, sometime I wonder if he even knows how to stop working. Lately he has been doing project, after project at our house. On this particular day he came home in between jobs and decided to build shelves in our garage.

5/04/11

I love to see these cute little faces when I wake up in the morning! Allergies have been kicking my butt lately and so I have been sleeping in. My kids just watch cartoons and let me sleep, they are the best!

5/05/11 Jordan at his "surprise" Cinco de Mayo party.

Happy 25th Birthday!

5/06/11
Chelsea and her family came into town Friday and stayed at our house for the weekend, so of course we had to have a girl's night at CPK.

Cub Scout Day Camp

(Top picture: Tyler Nicholas, Landon Morrison, Connor Nicholas, Griffin Ohler, Trace Glick, Nick, and Trent Bronley)

This last week Nick attended Cub Scout Day Camp for the first time. He had a blast! Every night he would come home and be so full of energy wanting to reenact everything for me and tell me who brought him home, he just loved everything about it. He had a great time with his friends from our new ward. He loved that he saw all of his old friends and was able to see Ben and do some of the stuff with him.
On the last day, Friday they do an egg drop and a family picnic. All the boys package an egg so that when they drop it from a 500 foot crane it doe not break. After Nick got home from camp on Thursday night he and Chris packed his egg for the drop. Chris was showing him that the lighter it is the better. Unfortunately Chris had to work Friday night, but there work was successful. Nick's egg didn't break so he received a white bead meaning the judges didn't see yolk when they opened his box.

Nick got the game ball on Wednesday. He was so "on". He was stopping balls left and right, caught a pop fly, got some outs, got some good hits, and he even got a home run. Good game Nick!! You really earned that game ball!
