For Family Home Evening tonight we hiked the trail at the Exploration Park with our good friends the Bakers. The kids had so much fun and I got a good workout!

Friends, Family, Food and Fun

What a busy, but FUN weekend we had to celebrate Easter! We started on Friday with an egg hunt for playgroup with a little lunch. I think I always get more out of playgroup than the kids! It is so nice to be able to sit with such great women and have an adult conversation, I love it!!

On Saturday we went to the ward egg hunt. The kids had a blast. By now Alex is finding a couple more eggs because he now realizes that there is candy in each egg! It is hard to keep him motivated because he just wants to sit down and eat the candy he has. Funny boy!!

And Sunday was the best! Cooper and Alex woke up first so they got to go downstairs first to see what the Easter Bunny left them. Nick and Chloe were total sleepy heads and woke up just in time to get ready for church. They did get to take a quick peek at their baskets as we were off to church. The Easter Bunny hid the eggs at our house after church since he knew how hard it is for Mom to get everybody ready for church on time! And I think we will make this a tradition because the kids look much cuter looking for eggs after they were all ready rather than in their jammies with crazy hair!!

I

In Young Womens we watched the Lamb of God video. What a perfect way to end our church day! To really focus on the true meaning of Easter and actually be able to visualize what Christ went through in his last seven days. I am so thankful for the Atonement in my life and hopefully I will be able to teach my children why we really celebrate Easter.

Later on we got to go have Easter dinner with my family and of course we had another egg hunt for the kids. I think Easter is officially my favorite holiday. I love the weather, all the cute spring colors and it doesn't help that my dad's ham is my favorite! I am so thankful to have such a great family and especially greatful that they are all (almost all!)so close!

Another Park Day

So, Friday was play group at the park, a little chilly in the shade, but still FUN! After we leave the park we always take the side street that the park is on to see if we can spot the peacocks. We found one, then two , and then there were fourteen! So we pulled over to feed them some fish crackers and Scooby snacks (I think they will eat anything!). We usually roll the window down enough to throw the food out and then roll the window up really quickly because I am scared of birds, but that is another story. Anyways, Nick wasn't even rolling his window down enough for the kids to throw their food out, so I decided to show him that there was nothing to be scared of. I rolled the window all the way down in the front and was taking some pictures of the kids watching the peacocks when one of them flew up to my window. SCARY!! I screamed, scared Cooper and ruined my whole plan. After Friday I am not sure we will be feeding the peacocks anytime soon!

Park Day

Thanks everyone for a wonderful day at the park!

Happy Anniversary

Last night was so much fun! We got almost a full 24 hours with no children. Of course I missed them, but it was nice to be able to have some alone time with Chris and remember why we love each other, with out the stress of having 4 small children.

I tried to surprise him because in the 6 years we have been married I have yet to actually do it! As usual I got so excited that I ended up telling him on Friday night about our suite at the Stratosphere (that is where we stayed on our wedding night). We went to dinner at The Bootlegger (where we went on our first date) and then to stay overnight in our suite with NO kids! We actually went to the top of the tower this time too. It was Chris' first time up there, but it was very windy so we didn't stay long. We had a blast! Thanks Mom & Dad and Jordan & Amber for watching the kids! You are best!!!
